Democratic Fundamentalism
A Call for Cultural Revolution in America

People who read this will only find its true value by setting aside their personal feelings, emotions, indulgences and self-interest in exchange for objectivity and placing the good of all above their individual interests.

People who read this, in all honesty, will find that impossible to do. Not because they're bad, indifferent to other people or lacking ethics… but because that is the very nature of people. To win. To control through domination. To survive. To prioritize based on the impact of circumstantial outcomes upon their own needs and desires. To invalidate those who disagree.

I am writing about more than politics, international relations, history repeating itself and the corruption of absolute power (that always occurs). It is about the natural order of the world to be in a constant process of equalizing all things and beings. It is about the role of human nature in that process, and how by acknowledging our own nature without judgment, we can affect a harmonious relationship with our world, or instead, cause cataclysms of philosophies, religions, and nations of people.

MSNBC reported that the detainees at Guantanamo Bay were being given the opportunity to write home. And, the correspondence was uncensored. However, the government reserved the right to change or omit objectionable passages, and rewrite letters as necessary, or not send them at all if the content was objectionable.

After looking up the word censorship in the dictionary just to be sure I wasn't mistaken, the only thing I can do is shake my head and refuse to remain passive any longer.

I've begun writing a book called "The Official Administration Guide to Propagandist Phrases" so that the new language, very similar to English, can be documented for historical purposes, as well as practical applications for anyone who's actually paying attention and considering questioning the doublespeak or asking for clarification.

Our founders charged all Americans with the responsibility of expelling its corrupt government by any means. They entrusted us with the power of the election to force the government to serve the people. And they expected leadership to honor the constitution, AND they expected the leadership to become corrupt, and so they built in checks and balances that can only be effective if people are willing to stand up for Democracy.

Now, in this day when we must embrace the serious outcomes of questionable elections and ethics, and the dwindling ability of the voice of the people to make a difference in our own country, we must either take the problem into our own hands or simply resign ourselves to the fates we are given by dictators. America may survive as a nation, but democracy will die.

I make a call to all Americans to join a Cultural Revolution that returns America to the roots of its creation and intent. And I call it Democratic Fundamentalism.

My call to Democratic Fundamentalism in America could only be labeled subversive or dissident by those people who and leaders whose lack of integrity could not sustain their personal quests for power and wealth if the truth was known.

Democratic Fundamentalism is about honoring the intent of the founders of this country without compromise, honoring the people who have died in defense of our land, and the principles of justice and equality that they so believed in. A land of opportunity where justice prevails and allows all people to flourish.

We are a nation where elected and appointed representatives of the people reach out to other nations to promote Democracy and American business interests. It is the impression they make on foreign cultures… impressions that apparently have, according to surveys in the Islamic World… that have caused many to hate the American Way… and one can only wonder…

How could people in other countries think that a land of freedom, justice, opportunity and fundamental Christian values of good Samaritanism and charity possibly be bad?

Imagine that Osama Bin Laden can only interpret that the people who elect U.S. representatives, in a representative Democracy after all, elect representatives who will actually, literally represent them. If your lawyer went to a gas station and robbed it of its gasoline, and when questioned later said he did it as your legal representative with full knowledge and complicity, you'd both be arrested.

Hence, why would Osama Bin Laden say that the people of the United Sates are no different than the government and military of the United States in terms of human targets to destroy?

For the same reason we go after Al-Qaeda wherever it exists: because those who would follow and empower the leadership of an Osama Bin Laden are, in our opinions, a threat, and must be taken out. That may be true, but…

There's an obvious disconnect here somewhere. The same kind of disconnect you can detect when, just before dropping bombs on a country, we always say "We don't have a problem with the people of that country, only the government". We assert that their government is not representative of their people. What if they say the same thing about us?

Democratic Fundamentalism is about resolving that disconnect in our own government, and expelling the corruption in our national leadership that perpetuates it. It's about all of us being responsible for holding our government accountable for participating in the world like the people we claim to be.

We say we don't like the Taliban, but the Bush Administration was willing to respect the sovereignty of Afghanistan and the authority of the Taliban so long as the Afghan oil- pipeline negotiations proceeded to our benefit. That was before 911.

I wonder what threats we made to the Taliban that would cause Osama to become so enraged and bring the fight to the homeland at this time… and why Argentina, the country most likely to get the contract to manage it instead of the U.S. (and Enron?) is now in complete financial ruin and being controlled by the IMF? Is it a coincidence, or just more bullying, financial war and covert ownership perpetrated by the United States?

Has anyone noticed that Bin Laden seems to have achieved numerous objectives in bombing the World Trade Center by forcing the United States into the position of finding a way to resolve the issue of Palestinian Autonomy?

Mr. OfficeHolder: When you have an opinion and the rest of the world thinks otherwise, are you still right while the whole rest of the world is wrong?

In Hitler's Germany, propagandists were able to convince the citizens that to dissent was to be in an extreme minority, and would cause you to be subject to ridicule by fellow citizens who were afraid to appear unpatriotic and disloyal, leading to arrest… detained without question for purposes of national security. Good laws enacted by good people for good reasons misapplied and convoluted to suit the momentary purposes of those required to suppress opponents.

And so, the German people acquiesced to participation in the tragedy of the holocaust in the name of creating a new world order based on breeding, intellect, class and compliance.

This week, the Federal Government announced the creation of safe areas for kids on the internet. I want to know… who will determine the content on this internet website classification… and what nationalistic philosophies will be promoted there? What does the government want our children to think?

Being a Christian of German descent, proud of the open Democratic society that my father fought for and taught me to appreciate and defend… I can only say that I, too, will never forget how such good people can be deceived and intimidated into performing such horrific acts that would lead to their own righteous destruction.

I pray this will not be the case of the United States. I fear it is well underway.

Texas recently convicted a woman because, even though insane, they claim Andrea Yates knew the difference between right and wrong. Am I wrong to have greater expectations of my country's leaders?
