Speaking it into existence... |
|
| To
the media: Remember that you have the power to control the message delivered to the
people. Whatever you speak into existence will occur. Be sure that your phrasing and
the ideas you express reflect the vision you have for the future. That doesn't
necessarily mean expressing a bias or opinion. To general site surfers: In a way, I don't really approach this page as a page I want to have completely public. This is a page where, if you don't follow the trail of the conversation, don't know who I'm addressing or what the issues are, this page will likely just seem weird. Sometimes, I make comments that only 1 person in politics or the media would understand.. sometimes I say general stuff or express my complaints. I just look at it as 1 more example of freedom of speech. Like tv and radio and such they don't have to listen. But often, they do.. some appreciate it, some get angry. That's their right as well :} I have no formal or even indirect affiliation with influence with any media or political figures. I just speak my mind, and sometimes, people listen. Sometimes, I actually say something worth listening to. :} - Editor Favorite remarks from site user: "Good job on keeping things cool and well spoken. Your website exhibits quite a bit of control - your adjectives could include evil bastards every now and again without being extreme." and, regarding a piece I wrote for another purpose called "The Privilege & Honor of Serving A Commitment""...statement is right on and could have been written by me, I have always felt this passionately about justice and equality! The sentiment expressed there is the only viable goal for humanity I think. I think what I'm constantly left with more than anything else is how people always say anything is possible.... until someone tries... and then people tell you it's impossible, or you're crazy... like Cesar Chavez, Martin Luther King, John Adams, Jimmy Carter, Susan B. Anthony... It's a good thing they didn't listen to those who said it couldn't be done... 1/7/2003 - Hey, Buddy... notice what's going on.. and how I told you 2-3 months again that exactly what is happening in the economy and Bush proposals is what would happen. You guys should listen to this outcast of the party sometime. :} You might learn something. But, then, you''d all have to give up the eliteism, wouldn't you? The way you guys treat me, my bigger experience to talk about in public will be about Democrats. I didn't want it that way. I'm not sure what to do with it. Bush said he was going to use the IMF to structure the US economy... their basic program is: 1) Devalue the currency 2) Increase exports 3) Reduce Social Expenditures 4) Encourage Foreign Investments 5) Privatization of health care Sounds like he's right on track. Unfortunately, it will bankrupt the average American and turn them into Serfs. I have a plan for representation without taxation, but it requires doing away withthe Federal Reserve Board and withdrawing support from the IMF and World Bank. I have 4 or 5 ways to do the economy that would build business, empower citizens and generate world peace... but... that's not what our friends in DC want. The Democrats don't have a candidate that the press approved of or the party hasn't suppressed who can beat Bush. Going pro-military will only help Bush. The other thing I dreamed about last night was riots in New York at the convention. George, remember, I never said the classism and eliteism was limited to Republicans. Look at how the DEMS treat Al Sharpton. Again, it's all part of why Nader says the Dems are no different than Repubs. It's a shame. Ireland looks better all the time. You ought to try starving sometime, George, it might change your perspective. ONE OTHER NOTE: One of the best wisdoms about increasing volume is to be sure you can have adequate capacity for expansion... so.. I'll continue to be patient.. as originally planned... there are reasons for the orginal dates I thought I would be announcing... they seem to be persistent.. keep watching charlesrehn.com for progress leading t a formal announcement. Though I won't be releasing my big plan until July... I swear, though, free marketers, big business, investors and the poor will benefit from my plan. A thought: why just do the draft. America's infrastructure needs a great deal of work. Make it mandatory service for 1 year for all... and put them to peaceful uses inside the US... give back a year of college or vocational training.... that's my freebie for the day. BTW, on the class warfare thing: it's only class warfare if you don't want the American people to know the truth about the economic and social agenda... if the truth starts class warfare, then maybe you should call Bush's remarks PROPAGANDA to avoid the truth. Again. As usual. Use the damned word. Get people used to it. If there's class warfare, Bush started it. Who else is talking about it as a national issue? 2:50pm pt - Godot: Life is empty and meaningless, therefore what exists is possibility, and why everything is possible. :} Now we understand each other :} Here's the next big giggle for me... wait til you see what is my best suit.. which I will likely wear out... and think about what it looks like... only a couple of people will have any context for this remark. :} I've thought about getting a different one, but it's a great suit. Ya'll are going to have some interesting info on me:} One of the things I'll be bringing up is how the media should not determine elections... the people should determine the merits based on the ideas and info, not opinions. Of course, opinion shows must state opinions... but the media should not limit access or impede candidates based on their appraisals... BTW: Any candidate unwilling to face any and all questioners - posing equivalent questions to all - is not up to the job. As for Al... he's got something valid to say, whether or not I agree with his opinions. Small audiences at this point mean nothing. Democrats would love to have a great deal of interest on the public's part, but that has to be created and inspired... it's not an entitlement. Sound familiar? :} As for me, it would be nice to think that the media will give me at least an initial interview and equal time as other candidates, but I doubt they will... at first. Which will only underscore what I'll be talking about.. which is why I'll eventually bubble up... and I'll be leading the field on ideas. Go ahead, big guy, pose the paradoxical questions... I can answer every one. :} 1/6/2003 - Psyche of the century: So, I called the FEC today as originally stated, because I've been doing a great deal of research on commitees and donation threshholds for filing.. the works... I'm pretty good at interpreting law, so I wasn't concerned about details until I could at least identify the section of the law that applied. My major concern has been to make sure that I could legally solicit contributions without getting into unwitting problems... to be sure that, at this early point in the process, that I was keeping things absolutely legal. The man at the FEC laughed along with me when I asked "So, which forms and publications do I need in order to file and/or form an exploratory commitee?" He said "There is no such thing, we've been trying to figure out what Edwards and those guys are talking about, too... especially when the media calls and asks questions... we don't know what to to tell them..." So, consider this your informal notice of my candidacy for the Democratic nomination for President. I'll have a formal statement later this week, when I get a haircut (and a few more legal issues handled). I don't need an exploratory commitee. I'm just doing it. That's called commitment. I'd also say to the other Democrats: I understand the daunting task of running for the Presidency requires a good deal of consideration. The question is, do you believe you have something to add to the public discourse, and are you willing to trust the understanding and will of the people to put your ideas forward, and let them decide? That would be a true expression of a commitment. Watch your fax machines! PS: How do you like the new look of the site? It will only get better! www.charlesrehn.com Gotta go create the future, now! The movie X is very interesting. Love that big dipper! 1/5/2003 - Ya gotta know that when I watch the news, it makes me a little anxious thay my name isn't on the list of candidates being taken seriously.} And then I remember that what I'm about is ideas, and that's the most important thing I have to offer... ideas that will be useful even if I'm not elected (though I honestly believe I will be). And then I remind myself to be patient because, while it's true that I won't have the money most think is needed, I will have an incredibly committed grassroots. And, I realize that my preparation will be the most important asset in portfolio. That's why the web edition of the book comes first. Speaking of which... I took an old copy of the table of contents and placed it online... there are about 3 more pages... thought you might find it interesting http://www.charlesrehn.com Enjoy. I'm going to hold back the best stuff, the focus of my campaign and administration, until the day before my first confirmed national interview. Otherwise, George will adopt the policies himself. :} And, I actually look forward to being on programs like yours... I think it will be fun, and I'll be effective. I just need to be ready. I was just messing with you. Wanted to see if you still had a sense of humor. Always rremember that the goal I will accomplish most is unification, even if you don't undersand the process I intend to use to cause it. Trust me just a little. One of the chapters in the book... I'm not really a subversive, but I played one on the internet... After looking at the stats and seeing the results, and using sound statistical projections, I believe I affected 600,000 to 1 million people in a 5 month period with little promotion... amplify those kinds of results, and the numbers work out pretty well. Remember, 15-25 million new voters. It's doable if what's at stake is what's truly wanted and needed. The spirit and will of the people is awesome! I miss the snow. :} 1/4/2003 - Glad you all liked the idea of promoting some liberal talk show hosts to go head to head with the Conservative guys... shame I wasn't considered when I brought it up. It's raining in the rain forest... and raining and raining and raining... it's great... every morning I get up and look out my window, and see 20 to 60 birds eating the seed I put out for them the night before... As much as I'd like to get in the race and make it public and all, I'm going to continue to be patient. It really still feels like February will be right... though I may do an exploratory commitee just to get the ball rolling on the campaign side... I need to finish Creating the Future, the Web Edition, before I actually go forward... that won't be long.. We're having a get together Friday to educate some people on the realities of global and national economics... as well as a discussion about what can be done, and the realities of the current state of corporate socialism... Saw the movie All the Power to the People last night.. I was going to include political prisoners as part of my platform, but I had not correlated that much info yet... I was in Santa Cruz at the Catalyst the night before Huey Newton died...he was always there, flashing his gun around and telling people he was a government agent... I hope I catch the movie again. Peace by oppression is not peace. BTW, I think Al Sharpton is a very decent guy too. I respect him a great deal. Between he and I, some eyes will be opened in this election cycle. 10 candidates.. what an opportunity to send a force into the field to raise the
consciousnes of the American people. That's Democracy. Let's not waste what Bill Moyers
would call a "teachable moment" by failing to tell the truth and
acquiescing to those who covertly oppose Democracy. Let's not forget that Bush & Company supported a coup against Chavez and that they want him out because he advocates that OPEC regulate production in order to keep prices higher. That's the real story. I love great reporting!
1/3/2003 - Song of the hour Yay! Frodo lives!! :} Can't wait to see Bruce Almighty :} I gotta meet Jim Carey and Spielberg. :} Meanwhile... I'm going to buy a small amount of Glaxo-Smith-Kline stock... I'm a regular person, but a whole lot of other people who seem to be anal retentive will probably be buying alot of Glaxo product... The citizens of the United States, however, will be nourished by one of the intellectually elite :} I think somebodyat least needs a publicist. Where in the world did George get the idea that Democrats were going to use class warfare? It's good of him to acknowledge it and turn it into a public issue. There's a trick answer, though, Tim, remember that :} I think I got my sense of humor back:} Just needed to know Frodo is okay. So, if Bill is still in LA next week, it might be an appropriate time to talk... Gotta get a haircut, though. I do that every year or so. I'm calling the FEC on Monday for final deployment info... since the DNC won't return my calls, I'm still going to go Democrat, I'm just going to ignore them, and let them catch up to me later. We regular folk may need a miracle, but we ain't prayin' to the money God. We have this other one we like alot. Which God will win? :} Let George figure out how to respond to that one. He might like that one better than class warfare. :} Check out Ezekiel about the elders being afraid of their children. Nancy: America, Safe and Sound. Here we go again with global warming and Europe... dang... Read the Conquerors last night... outstanding! Then, I went to bed, turned on the TV, and there was a movie about the Presidency of Woodrow Wilson... dedodedo. :} Have a great weekend! I'll be back full-time on Monday. By the end of the week, I predict the fun will begin again. Thanks for all your great work for Americans!
1/2/2003 - Howdy... didn't want you to think I'd dropped off the face of the earth... I realized bac a couple of months ago after an incident or 2 that I'd lost my sense of humor... so I' decided to go on a quest to find it... I think I have... good thing for George Bush :} And a few Democrats... Of course, it always helps to get such positive responses from people regarding a candidate who would actually stop playing games and tell Americans the truth... Consider this the calm before the storm... Glad to hear Matrix 2 and 3 are coming out... it's just the kind of help I need :} Tim: Don't forget, ask me about classism and eliteism... you'll actually get a very insiteful discussion... not what you think... I have all I need to file AND to create an exploratory commitee... I actually do have a great deal of patience, regardless of the appearance in the last few months... but I have some points to make... glad to hear the classism discussion has made it to the consciousness of George Bush. The media may not be willing to give me the light of day... but it's good to know you're all listening... I always knew you were... Next week, much more fun news to tell you... time to go find another thing to laugh about... and see what advice the Twin Towers have to offer me... :} Frodo's my hero! :} Take care ya'll ... that'll confuse folks... a westerner in ecotopia who says ya'll and has a slightly Arkansawyer drawl... like Carville says.. if you can't have fun... Love ya!
