The Dangers of Tri-Fecta

What is a tri-fecta?  Simple.  It's when one political party has voting control over the house, senate and Presidency all at the same time.

Let's look at the implications.

Let's say that the House of Representatives of Representatives decides to introduce a bill that calls for the elimination of governmental regulations on corporations. There's no need to have any discussion, and it doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks, because, let's say, the bupkis party has a clear majority.  And, they've already decided to pass it.

So the bill goes to the Senate. And, like in the House of Representatives, there's no need to have any discussion, and it doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks, because, let's say, the bupkis party has a clear majority.  And, they've already decided to pass it.

So now the bill goes up to that George guy for his approval.  Now, given the record, what do you think he's going to do?

The point is, if that occurs,  there will be no more discussion of events, because they don't have to have one.  Once these laws are passed, it's even harder to undo them.  Before long, the laws desired by those corporations who want to take our money and run will get their way.

It's that simple.

What it means you need to do is look at your local races, and find your candidates.   Normally, I would never suggest that anyone vote along straight party lines.   Today, however, it's time for us liberals to join together en masse in order to make sure that the constitutional checks and balances are in place, that neither party has the ability to pass legislation without due discussion.

Control of a governing body is important, because the controlling party can delay or postpone action on any bill, even if it was passed by another house of Congress.  So, even if the House passed a bill unanimously, the Senate could keep it off the agenda indefinitely.

This is a time when we must pull together to maintain our Democratic system of government.

Please, beat the tri-fecta, and more importantly than anything... VOTE, and urge your friends to do the same.

It's one of those things a New Patriot would do... get people involved in the Democratic process.
