It's important to be informed... the interesting thing about standard broadcast media is the conservative approach to news stories... on the other hand, Cable News provides radically different approaches, diverse opinions and philosophies, and programming formatics that can provide an incredible overview of the mood and opinion of the country by the people, and its politicians... which, by the way, is often opposite.

Watch them all. Hear them all. Participate.  Register the focus of the stories, channel to channel, as well as the vast difference in which stories get airtime.   More importantly, watch the headlines at the bottom of the screen.  That's where you'll find the developing news, as well as headlines you may only see once and never see or hear about again.  There are many of those tidbits that would otherwise tend to "connect the dots" between the public spin and the truth.

Moneyline@cnn.com - Lou Dobbs presents what is likely the most intellectually honest program on tv.  6 pm ET weekdays.

Crossfire@cnn.com  with Paul Begala, Tucker Carlson, James Carville & Robert Novak.  What a combo! 4pm Weekdays.  A Firecracker. Drink less coffeee before watching this.  Highly interactive.

Lou Dobbs & Crossfire: If you want them to address an issue for the day, or just make a difference in their styles, email them 2 hrs before broadcast time.  Ask them a legitimate question, and they'll do their darndest to answer it on the air in the course of their discussions.

Don't manipulate these guys... talk to them like they were in your living room.   They'll be just as friendly to you. And no, they won't always agree with you.
